Love your life book review
I love chick-lit, and some of my favorites are by Sophie Kinsella. So when I saw her new book, Love Your Life, was available, I got it.
Love your life follows Ava and Matt, two strangers who meet at a writing retreat where they are not allowed to divulge anything about their personal lives. Naturally, they fall in love with the personas they created at the retreat. But will their romance stand the test of time when faced with their real-life dissimilarities?
I love Sophie Kinsella’s approach to chick-lit. She writes how I journal, and her characters’ quirkiness is relatable. But sometimes they can be pretty annoying. And I felt the same way with the main characters in this book.
Love Your Life didn’t quite hit home for me. It felt rushed and made me realize I might prefer slow-burn romance. Because what am I supposed to do when the main characters meet and immediately fall in love? And all seems to be going well? And you are only three chapters in?
For me, the best part of the book was towards the end and mainly featured the camaraderie between Matt, Ava, and their friends.
It had some great moments, but I would rate it 2.5 stars rounded up to 3.
